The number of Freckled Ducks have now increased to 156 this afternoon at Maurice Hamer Park. About 53 near the small island in front of the car park, 97 on the point about 200 metres to the left, and 6 on the banks about 100 metres to the right.

Other good sightings for the lake were Australian Spotted Crake, Black-tailed Native-hen (3), Red-necked Avocet (~30) and White-cheeked Honeyeater (3).

The water level has dropped considerably since I last visited. There is now some mud visible in front of the typha across the water. So sightings of crakes, rails and possibly Little Bitterns should be much more likely.
