Hello everyone just thought id let you know that I spotted with Dan Blunt a Red-Rumped Swallow over the Broome Bird Observatory.
It was flying with atleast 80 Tree Martins and 10 Barn Swallows.
It hung around for approx 5min and several photos were taken.

There are very few records in W.A. and this would be only the 3rd record for Broome.
We had them regularly over the Bird Observatory in the evenings for approx 2 months during December 99 till March 00. This coincided with over 100 being recorded in Kununurra.

I will have a better look tommorow as I only noticed the numbers Martins and Swallows as I was leaving the Observatory and a lot of birds had already started to head towards the mangroves where they roost.
I hope to locate a pre roost as I did in 2000 and photograph them perched.

Cheers Adrian Boyle
