Happy New Year 2003!
I've been dabbling in the systematics and phlogeny of the passerine
family Campephagidae (cuckoo-shrikes, trillers, flycatcher-shrikes and
minivets) on a part time basis on and off during the last year, and
hoping to ramp up to a little more activity in 2003.
At this (still early) stage I'm interested in securing a few contacts
around the globe to chat about the natural history of some of the genera
and sub-genera in Campephagidae that I'm not familiar with in the field.
If any of you are interested, the groups I know least about in personal
field experience terms (or in what I can glean from the literature) are
as follows:
- African Coracina and Campephaga
- Asian and Wallacean Coracina and Lalage
- Hemipus
- Campochaera sloetii (Golden Cuckoo-shrike of New Guinea)
Hoping to hear from some field-savvy correspondents keen to talk about
campephagids!
L.
