Hi Fiona I don't know anything about Nullarbor Quail-thrush however on reading your comment that: "However, they were very flighty and would not let us approach closer than about 100m. Has anyone else found this with these birds? Every other quail-thrush I have seen has been uninterested even when I approached within 20m". the first thought that comes to mind is that they may have been nesting.
