On the Button-quail note...

From a second hand source, somebody also saw what sounded like a Red-chested Button-quail in Kurrajong (just outside Sydney) quite recently. Have seen Red-chested Button-quails at Wilberforce (again just ouside Sydney) but both Little (twice) and Red-backed Button-quails (once) within the Sydney region. All  the above 3 species are quite likely to be under-reported for Sydney.

I also has a Little Button-quail turn up in rainforest at Glucester,NSW (in Barrington Tops, followed by another sighting in rainforest on another track nearby). We had very good views of this bird only a a few metres on the ground from my feet.
