I had a similar experience in the Barrington Tops some years ago with a Red-backed Button Quail. We were coming down from the Tops towards Lagoon Pinch above the Guest House when we came across the Quail foraging along the walking track. We watched it for about 10 minutes , it seemed totally unconcerned by our presence, most unusual.
