Yesterday morning there were 3 Grey Teal just above the falls, the first I have seen here in 6 years of near daily checking of this site 4 km from Melbourne GPO. Unlike the now resident and locally breeding Chestnut Teals, these birds were wary and appeared to have just flown in. This is presumably a drought related occurrence. They had gone when I rechecked the site in the evening.

Earlier this week there was a Darter at the site - the first time I have seen it there since last summer.

Cheers
Neville
