Hi birders

I had a fewminutes spare this afternoon, so I wandered down to the site in
Melbourne where that filthy feral, the Red-whiskered Bulbul, is regularly
recorded - Wilson Reserve off The Boulevard in Ivanhoe.

I heard 2 bulbuls while I was there (for about an hour), but didn't manage
to actually see one.  The bushland here is heavily infested with various
kinds of environmental weeds (poplar, cotoneaster, etc.), so it has a kind
of European feel if you ignore the omnipresent Bell Miners!  There were a
few Olive-backed Orioles about - mostly in the poplar groves - and just for
a minute there it gave the impression of birding in the south of France with
Eurasian Golden-Orioles!  Not bad birding for a weed-infested suburban
location.
