Hi Greg,

Just to re-iterate what Anthea Fleming has just said, Olive-backed Oriole
arrive along the lower reaches of the Yarra about his time of year. If you
ride/walk along the Yarra Track most morning you will hear them every couple of
kilometers or so.

Incidentally, I'm in Northcote and have seen them several times in my garden -
my 'best' home list bird! They seem to like to roost in the paulownia tree (as
do lorikeet and wattlebird), especially when it's flowering.

Cheers,

Tim

Hi everyone,
Saw a couple of Olive-backed Orioles in Kew, behind the Guide Dog
Association
on the Yarra (right near the bridge) on Saturday.

Are Orioles irregular visitors to Melbourne? I can't recall seeing them
anywhere very often over the years,

Cheers,
Greg Oakley
