Hi all as many of you may have noted, the topic of heavily streaked Pipits has been touched on in relation to the Top End in the past, since we see boldly marked pipits particularly during the Wet Season. What makes these apparently remain Richard's Pipit is the following: - The brow tends to be off-white but the throat is usually clearly white. - There is no clear 'V' marking on the edge of the mantle - The legs or tail are not noticeably short - And there are no other obviously different features The level to which our birds are different is as yet unresolved. Perhaps Richard's bird is one of ours. Perhaps not.
