As usual, the Koels have arrived in my patch of the
upper north shore about 2 weeks after they hit the coastal areas. I heard
the first female squawking yesterday and a male coeeing this morning. They
seem to time their arrival well, as the Red Wattlebirds became a lot more
apparent about two weeks ago. (I have been keeping an eye on the gap
between first koel reports and my first for the spring for the 5 years I
have lived in Turramurra, and it's pretty consistent at about 12-14
days)
No sign of the Channel Bills yet.
Cheers
