Hello everyone, The Noisy Pitta was still at Irrawong Reserve this afternoon (Monday). This is 10 days since Kerry Smith first found it. Walk in about 50 m. from Irrawong Rd. to where the track forks, take the left fork and after a few metres you will see a group of low Cabbage Palms on the R.H. side of the track. I saw the bird under those palms. There are still 3 Baillon's Crakes at the Katoa Close boardwalk. I saw them about 4.00 P.M. feeding on the edge of the reeds. For me undoubtedly the bird of the day was a Spotted Harrier again seen from the boardwalk. It flew over the swamp at some height and then returned later at a much more harrier like height. My 1st. S.H. and 210 species for Sydney's Northern Beaches. Happy birding, Bruce. Bruce Cox. 48 Rangers Retreat Rd. Frenchs Forest. Sydney. 2086. Australia. Phone:--02 9451 5394.
