Thank you Tim and thank you to everyone who has replied.  My letter is now appearing on birding-aus.  An e-mail from Russell Woodford has cleared up the problem.  As the letter is lengthy and contains some words which appeal to the filtering system for being checked, the letter gets held up for a day or so before being passed on.  hence the "daeomon" messages while the system sorts it our.

Thank you again to all who kept me sane in this time of need and thank you especially to Russell for getting my letter out.

Cheers and wonderful spring birding to everyone, unless you're one of those people who replied from China and Mongolia, in which case, have a lovely autumn !

I am not aware of one but there may be. Maybe you should experiment and let me know. You can send test messages to yourself or me..

Hi Tim,

Clearly then, an e-mail with letter attached will bounce back
My problem is, even if I wite the letter in the e-mail it doesn't send.
All my other short test messages and the latest queries do send ??
Is there a text limit ?

Cheers,

P.

Hello,

Me again, your resident pain in the ....
I've now tried to send a letter straight text and attached.  You are obviously all reading me loud and clear, from Melbourne to China.
Am I therefore running into trouble with the length of my letter - what's the limit ????   Can't I send it as an attachment.  I need to get this out to you guys - how ??

Regards,

Paul
