Gidday Birders, went to the central coast on Tuesday, but unfortunately it was for work and didn't have time to chase shovellers or Swifties. However I had lunch at a park on the edge of Tuggerah lake (Chittaway bay lions park..I think). I was impressed by the numbers of Swans and Chestnut teal but the real surprise was the call of Striped Honeyeaters. I always associate these birds with inland areas and its always nice to find them on the coast. I was wondering if these are resident birds or have they come in due to the drought. Any comments from local birders appreciated. Cheers Graham Turner Birding-Aus is on the Web at www.shc.melb.catholic.edu.au/home/birding/index.html To unsubscribe from this mailing list, send the message "unsubscribe birding-aus" (no quotes, no Subject line) to |
