I think Roy Wheeler's efforts from the chair have been mythologised somewhat!
I've certainly been
on trips where I saw more from roaming around than Roy did from sitting. I can
recall one
occasion on Mud Islands where he put his chair in the middle of a group of
nesting Caspian Terns,
and when asked about the terns said "Caspian Terns? Haven't got them on the
list yet ...".
I don't think it's time yet to hang up the boots in favour of a chair - not for
all occasions
anyhow. Diversity of effort is the key - not just one or other technique!
