After speaking to David Mitford, I would like to report 2 of his sightings from Magic Pt, Maroubra:

GREY-HEADED ALBATROSS (juv.) 13/7/02 (ie.) present two weekends in a row and same time of day and place, though we missed it on our sea watch 14/7/02)

ARCTIC TERN (seen with Rod Gardner) early this week (these Terns appear to be regular off the east coast in small numbers in winter).

David has also got me envious over his pod of  "ORCAS" (KILLER WHALES) sighted offshore from Wollongong on Monday (15/7/02) with SOSSA. And there has also been a sighting of a BLUE WHALE off Cape Solander, near Sydney in the past few days.

There is no excuse not to get out of bed this winter!

PS Any further sightings of both "Northern Shoveler" and "Cotton Pygmy Goose" (the later not for me) in Sydney and Newcastle?
