Mike has raised a good point. Kevin's papers only covered 25 voyages over 2 years but Brandis et al "Seabirds Recorded off Wollongong, NSW, 1984 - 1990" in Australian Bird watcher, Vol 14 (5) March 1992 covered 99 pelagic trips over 6 or so years. This paper has been updated and has been submitted to the Australian Seabird Bulletin covering the next 10 or so years. Much of the data has also been sent to the NSW Bird Atlassers and is on Tony Palliser's website so there is data available, perhaps David Geering is correct in saying research into prior publications is a dying art.
