I have unconfirmed but credible reports that duck shooting does occasionally occur at Banrock Station, by staff members, a questionable practice in itself but especially given that they promote it as a wetland haven.
If it *is* going on, perhaps it's destruction of mallards and mallard hybrids (i.e. feral domestic ducks) in order to preserve the Pacific Black Duck?
