Just a few minutes ago, a loud commotion amongst the local Sulphur-crested and Yellow-tailed Black Cockatoos drew my attention outdside, where I was thrilled to see a Square-tailed Kite flying above Katoomba. This is the first time in 18 years I have seen this species in the Upper Blue Mountains. It disappeared to the north-east.
