Dear all,
I have just gotten back from a lovely week in Victoria. I climbed
Mackay's Peak and saw some lovely birds, one of which was the Regent's
Honeyeater. I didn't however see many big birds (with the exception of a
single Wedge-Tailed Eagle hovering over the Grampians &unless you want to
count the Emu in the Hamilton Botanical Gardens, when I was on my
way) . I couldn't do quite as much birding as I wanted, but I had a lovely
time. Above all, all the people I saw were very nice and helpful, both in
Melbourne and in country vic. I am sorry I couldn't do much birding in
Melbourne or contact the people who responded to my call. Blame partly the
terrible pub lic transport in Hamilton (which I couldn't get out of before
4:00pm on Sunday). I'll be back soon for more though. Thanks.
