Hi Birders,
In early December 2001 the NSW Field Ornithologists Club (now NSW Birding) had organised a tour on the boat "Lady Joy" to view the waterbirds in the Hunter Estuary, particularly the migratory waders massed on the Dykes at high tide on Kooragang Island; the waterbirds in the upper reaches of Mosqueto Creek all saltmarsh and mangrove areas of Kooragang Island Nature Reserve; and the birds in the lower harbour, such as Common and White-winged Black Terns. Unfortuately this trip had to be cancelled at the last minute due to the unavailability of the ferry.

However, two trips have been organised in the next two months to do the same trip but this time by the Kooragang Wetland Rehalitation Project. It will be the same trip as planned by NSW Birding in December. The trips are on Tuesday 26th February at 9am & Saturday 30th March at 9.30 am. Bookings essential. Cost is $18, trip takes 3 hours. Contact Sue Rostrus KWRP for bookings at 02 49 649308. I will be the guide on the ferry on both days.
