Hi all

Was out with a Canadian birder and added 17 new birds to my year list.  Started with Brolgas at Tinchi Tamba Wetlands on Brisbane's northside. 250 was Speckled Warbler at Kobble Picnic Area at Lake Samsonvale with a couple of cuckoos and Varied Sitellas just before. White-winged Black Tern was 254 with about 200 near Seven Mile cow paddock.  Number 260 was PAINTED SNIPE near Lake Dyer which I found before the others told me.   I saw tyre marks on the grass verge and told my Canadian birder that some one had been there not long before us - Bill Jolly and John Hadley. On the way home we passed a White-necked Heron (261).  For the day we had 127 species with buggar all shore birds included.  Interestingly we saw topical birds such as Weebills, Buff-rumped Thornbills and Yellow-rumped Thornbills.  All in all a good day at the office.

Cheers

Roy
