The one New Zealand bird that has been introduced into parks and gardens in
Australia on a number of occasions is the Parradise Shellduck. There are early
records of this species in the Royal Botanic Gardens in Sydney (c. about 1930).
And one record (probably an escapee) at Mount Annan Botanic Gardens in about
1990 (I dont have the exact date with me at present.) I also understand that
there are a number of this species in private collections.

Blackbirds and Song Thrushes are self-introduced to LHI, supposedly from the
introduced populations in NZ. The occassional records of Yellowhammer and
Chaffinch from LHI and Redpoll from Macquarie Island are also from the same.
However, I can't think of any native NZ bird being introduced anywhere
outside of NZ (most are too rare to start off with).
Cheers,
Peter
