Hi all

I was one of a large number of people who enjoyed seeing lots of birds at
Edithvale-Seaford Wetlands yesterday - and like nearly everyone else dipped on
the Long-Toed Stint. It will be there today of course.

On the way back to Geelong I popped into the launching ramp near the southern
end of Lake Borrie. The lake is within the Western Treatment Plant and
requires a permit & key for access, but it is partially viewable from the
public road. There are still a lot of Freckled Duck easily viewable from the
gate nearest the boat ramp. I didn't try counting as it was very windy and
cold! On the way back to the Prince's Freeway I watched a Spotted Harrier
flying around close to the road for a couple of minutes - great views of a
species not often recorded in this area in recent years.

Good to catch up with lots of Birding-Aus people at Edithvale yesterday - I
hope some of you go back and see the stint!

Cheers

Russell
