A Grey Wagtail was sighted on the Mitchell Plateau by George Swann on the 17
November 2001. Several photographs were taken, these will be on my website
in about a week or so.

The bird - a female in non-breeding plumage was enjoying some small
waterfalls and pools formed by a creek flowing through a basalt ridge.

The Wagtail's feeding behaviour was interesting in that it was turning over
floating leaves that were caught amongst the falls and capturing some sort
of water insects that were hiding underneath.

The bird was observed and photographed over a period of 45 minutes and was
still present when I left the site.
