Alan's sighting of a Buff-banded Rail reminds me of
a dead Lewin's Rail I found a few hundred metres from my place on my way once to
school (over 10 years ago). It was found in a small paddock beside houses. At
this location, there was no wetland within 3 km atleast and may have been on
migration.
