Hi all, Went for a walk around Greens Bush in Main Ridge on the Mornington Peninsula, apparently the last remnant vegetation in this area. Lovely walk, nice birds, but the highlight would have to have been watching a Dusky (?) Antechinus trying to raid a Pardalotes nest (not a highlight for the poor little birds though). Also a completely naked bushwalker, complete with boots and a backpack! I was too stunned to elicit any reasons for his nakedness, the things one sees when bird-watching! Bird list follows Stuart Straw-necked Ibis Wedge-tailed Eagle Sulpher Crested Cockatoo Crimson Rosella Eastern Rosella Fan-tailed Cuckoo Laughing Kookaburra White-throated Treecreeper Superb Fairy-wren Spotted Pardalote White-browed Scrubwren Brown Thornbill Striated Thornbill Red Wattlebird Yellow-faced Honeyeater White-eared Honeyeater White-naped Honeyeater Crescent Honeyeater Eastern Yellow Robin Varied Sittella Crested Shrike-tit Grey Shrike-thrush Golden Whistler Rufous Whistler Grey Fantail Magpie Lark Black-faced Cuckoo-shrike Dusky Woodswallow Australian Magpie Little Raven Common Blackbird Common Starling http://home.iprimus.com.au/scooney/index.htm |
