JOB OPPORTUNITY AT BIRDS AUSTRALIA
PROJECT OFFICER (NATIMUK-DOUGLAS WETLAND MANAGEMENT PLAN).
Birds Australia is seeking a project officer (Research and Conservation
Department) to produce a management plan for the Natimuk-Douglas Wetlands,
Wimmera, Victoria. This is a challenging project, requiring excellent
negotiation and project management skills, and an energetic and
enthusiastic project officer. This project offers the opportunity to make a
meaningful and lasting contribution to wetland conservation.
The successful applicant will have/be:
- An excellent negotiator.
- Well organised, with a demonstrated ability to effectively achieve a
challenging work plan with tight time constraints.
- A good understanding of bird and wetland conservation issues, including
relevant legislation.
- Demonstrated ability in managing budgets and projects.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, with experience in
communicating with scientists, bird, natural history, conservation and
management groups and the general community.
- An effective contributor to the team at Birds Australia.
