Margaret Cameron laments the gloomy weather forecast for the twitchathon.  Well, north of the border the prospect looks wonderful - glorious weather.

My fellow team members have been busy gathering sponsors and I think the Whacked-out Woodswallows will be contributing their fair share to the BA SNAG Cowra Woodlands project - the NSW recipient of the 2001 twitchathon spoils.

As the "toilet-thrushes" and the "somewhat serious birdwatchers" have jumped on the band wagon, the Whacked-out Woodswallows is prepared to take whatever money you  haven't promised to other teams.  As we don't have a mathematician in our team we would rather accept set amounts rather than a per bird basis.  Let's keep it simple.

Those who haven't organised a team might be missing out on the fun but here's a chance to feel good about the contribution you are making for a great cause.  The Capertee Valley Regent Honeyeater project started off with twitchathon money, in 1993 from memory, and it's now bigger than Ben Hur.  Let's get the Cowra project off on the right footing!

Cheers

Head Woodswallow
David Geering
