whistling duck flock size

In olden times when it used to rain here and there was water in places -
during the first Atlas we recorded Plumed Whistling-ducks at the Lagoon on
'Melrose', a property on the North Branch of the Condamine River between
Brookstead and Cecil Plains SEQ. A count by a number of observers resulted
in a total of 8000+ birds [we have photos].
