I went to Lake Merriti ( north of Renmark ) last week and we estimated more than 1000 BTNH around the lake and 15000 water-fowl on the lake..including 80 Freckled Duck, The Calperum Management have been doing controlled wetting and drying of Lake Merriti for several years and positive results are starting to show.
All wetland areas around Renmark,Berri, Loxton and Barmera have 100s of BTNH and I received a report today of a dead one beneath a power line, wouldn't it be great to have night vision and see these huge flocks arriving.
