G'Day all

A sight more often seen across the lignum flood plains of the inland
rivers, Black-tailed Native-Hens are irrupting around the northern
suburbs of Adelaide.. This morning at the Salisbury North "Kaurna"
Wetlands (At the intersection of Waterloo Corner Road and Bolivar Road)
approximately 20 km north of the CBD, many hundreds were flocked in the
woodlands surrounding the swamps. There have been a few about these
wetlands for most of the year but about a month ago, numbers began to
increase. There are large numbers at St Kilda also and where we live
near Virginia, Native-Hens are living under the melaleuca hedges
surrounding the house.
Hi Ian,

Here south of Adelaide at Flinders Uni. there have been 2-3 Black-tailed Native Hens on and around the Uni. lake for the past week or two. The last year or two there have been sightings of 1 or 2 BTNH here at this time of the year. The reed warblers are also back by the lake.

Cheers,

Peter.
