I have been fortunate to see a few Western Whipbirds at both Two Peoples Bay
and
in the Stirling Ranges NP.

The calls of the birds I heard at both places were identical (and I think
would be different to the ones present in SA, western VIC?), however I only
had very good views of the Western Whipbird at TPB and brief glimpses of the
ones at SRNP. I got very close to one Whipbird at TPB (only a couple of
metres as it was trying to get insects? from a loose piece of bark of a
mallee). It's white moustaches where clearly edged black (I think the Mallee
Whipbird's moustaches are not completely bordered black).
