Susan Myers, Peter Lansely and I spent a pleasant hour watching the Northern Shoveler, which was still present yesterday afternoon at the Western Treatment Plant, Werribee. It was on Lake Borrie just to the north of the dead trees on the eastern edge. As well, we had excellent views of Freckled Duck, Glossy Ibis, Orange-bellied Parrot, White-breasted Sea-Eagle, Banded Stilt and nearly 90 other species. Quite a good day really, given the pretty unpleasant weather conditions.
