Bob Swindley just found a male northern shoveler on South Lake Borrie at the Western Treatment Plant, during the regular counts we are conducting on the farm. South Lake Borrie is the large lake (pond 24) between the treed pond (pond 9) and Beach Road. It was near the concrete block where the Freckled Ducks hang out, but moved 500m east towards the bay, where it is resting (or was, when Bob rang me 15 minutes ago). Bob is continuing to count, so please cause minimum disturbance, and observe usual protocols re permits. I'm going to have a look now! Cheers, Richard.
