Hi
I'm a South African working in Sydney on a short contractand was walking on
Balmoral beach in Sydney at about 5pm today when I saw a magnificent sea
eagle fly past with a fish clasped in its claws , not knowing what it was
but realising it was an eagle of some kind because of its beak and just by
feel, I grabbed my camera and took a shot - sadly , the camera is only a
snap happy digital and the eagle is just a speck in the distance. After
searching on the net I realised it was a white bellied sea eagle. Could
anyone enlighten me as to what the status of these birds is here in Sydney
and how many there are ? I was amazed that such a bird could be found in the
harbour, since i would have thought that the human activity around would
scare it off.
