Thanks for all the answers to this thread, I will be on the lookout for these birds in the future , my eyes normally scan the bush for plant species ( Australia's plant life, in particular protea species are a special interest ) but now I will be keeping an eye out for birds as well. I would love to see what I believe is Bell bird ( makes an explosive whistle sound ? ) , a Lyre bird and a Bower bird before I leave Australia in Feb next year. We are travelling in July up to Uluru, Kakadu and Cairns/Cape Tribulation/Barrier reef in July so if anyone has any tips about these areas, let me know.
