Hi John > Regarding the Bristlebirds, we were struck by how poorly the pictures in > the fieldguides (Slater and Slater, Pizzey and Knight, Simpson and Day - > but not necessarily Morcombe, which we haven't yet acquired) represented > what we saw. They do so quite poorly also with the Western Bristlebird. It has a beautiful scalloped effect to its pluamge, that one must see on a wild bird or a very good photograph.
