Thanks for all the comments, it sounds like most people seem to count the same way. On the thread of most common bird at our place, ours would have to be Bar Shouldered Doves. My favourite home birds would have to be the Grey crowned Babblers which can be seen punctually every day at 5.30pm having a dust bath in the driveway except during the Wet when they have a puddle bath instead. On the subject of Owls we were startled one night recently by a Frogmouth which grabbed a moth off the longueroom window while we watched TV.
