Hi Robert Saw your interesting note about pilotbirds near coast at Cape Conran, in eastern Victoria Pilotbirds are present in The Dandenong Ranges National Park [40 kms outside Melbourne] and I have seen them at Bald Hills Wetlands [near Waratah Bay] and at Lakes Entrance [Gippsland, Victoria], not far from the sea.
