I fail to see how the capping of bores and the subsequent drying of bore drains can be listed as a threat to birds. Surely these drains having been provided by humans (the dreaded graziers) and the drying up of these drains is merely returning the status quo that existed before white settlement. A similar "threat" would be the re-forestation of cleared land which has encouraged the spread of many seed eaters. Terry Pacey now residing at: Gold Coast South-east Queensland.
