For a bit of a change, I went for a stroll/swim through Northbrook Gorge [NW Mt Glorious in Bne Forest Park] with Leanne and our friend Ritchie. We found a dead riflebird in the gully leading to Northbrook Creek, observed a few logrunners doing that, and flushed a few topknots and the odd wompoo near our morning tea spot on the Ck. The atlassing highlight was a grey goshawk sitting on a rock in the middle of the creek about 15 mins upstream of the gorge. Passing through the gorge involves a couple of swims - the water temperature was lovely. Got to see a few spectacled monarchs in place of the usual black faced, and listed a silent pitta about 10 mins from the road.
