Hi Birders,
Recently Annabel Ashworth enquired about records of the Chestnut-breasted M.mannikins in the Tamworth area.

In the "Handlist of Birds of New South Wales" Morris et al 1981, the distribution was given for this species as "Coast & Northern Tablelands, south to the lower Sholahaven River, west to Tenterfield, Dorrigo, Gloucester & the Cumberland Plain."
Since that time the distribution has remained basically the same however a pair were recorded at Inverell 28-29 March 1998 (1998 NSW Bird Report in press).

I would be interested in the details of the location and dates of the Tamworth sightings as although unusal, it would not be unexpected.
