Roy Sonnenburg lamented that there are birders out there not participating
in the Atlas. I have spoken to several birders about this and the reasons
why they don't participate is as varied as the people I question.
What I find interesting is the number of agency people, NSW NPWS instance,
that do not summit records to the Atlas. Some do, I know, but I am aware of
many that don't. I am surprised that the good folk at Birds Australia have
not made a concerted effort to enlist these people (I am making the
assumption that they haven't). Out here in the NSW Western Directorate
staff are getting out to areas where record sheets would be most valuable.
Cheers
David
