Black-faced Cormorant in SE Melbourne

Following the SE winds (and perhaps before) there was today -
Monday - an immature Black-faced Cormorant on the breakwater of
the Brighton Marina, near the end on the lee side. (I keep
getting reports, several recently, of penguins there which I
fear are immature cormorants! But then Earthcare St Kilda's
lovely children's book about pollution threats to penguins shows
one marching past a litter bin nearby!)

Very keen on preening and, it seemed to me, in transition from
immature to adult plumage (some green sheen on the black
primaries etc.). None of my books say at what age this
transition takes place.

And as I returned towards the land I was attacked several times
by a Silver Gull. Could they be breeding ? Any offers to keep
an eye on the possible site ??

Our Satin Flycatcher records continue with 2 females around
yesterday (Sunday). Galahs are present more widely than I or the
database suggest in this urban area, presumably breeding.
