greetings all
While birding at Wattle Forest, Royal National Park, on Saturday my wife and
I saw what we could only take to be a Speckled Warbler. It was on the edge
of the regeneration rainforest area in acacia and hd definite streaking on
its breast. We did not get a clear view of it as it was furtive and kept as
much foliage as possible between us and it. However we did see the breast
and the brown capped crown. Sounds like an unusual record if a Speckled
Warbler and we were wondering if others had such records. How far east can
we expect them?

Incidentally the Crested Shrike tits that were at this location about three
weeks ago do not seem to be there and we did not see the Catbirds, the first
time for a long time that they were missing. There were large numbers of
Black faced Monarchs present as well as a volabel pair of Leaden Flycatcher.
