Terry Pacey & all Not a record but an observation. Back in the mid thirties whilst holidaying at The Entrance, Tuggerah Lakes on the central coast of NSW, the long beach to the north of the lake entrance, which runs almost to Norah Head was literally covered with the decomposing bodies of shearwaters. This would have been during the school holidays, Dec /Jan 1934/35. At the time this was regarded as a natural event beyond our knowledge or understanding . I have seen similar events (though not so devastating ) from time to time , and agree entirely with the explanation provided by Alan Morris |
