Some good news. The archive had been stored on my aging office
workstation which periodically broke - leaving the archive unavailable.
Its been recently replaced with a shiny new PC which should be reliable.

Early next year when I get some free time, I will upgrade the ugly and
very clunky browsing and searching interface to the archive. Hopefully I
can incorporate some of the suggestions Bob Forsyth and others have made.

There are at least 2 Andrew Taylor's on this list! Make sure you e-mail
the right one if you have questions/problems
with the archive.

I set up the archive because I was regularly seeing messages that I
thought I might want to retrieve in several years time. Messages from
extremely knowledgable people like Alan Morris. It would be unfortunate
if people like Alan were discouraged from posting to birding-aus by
undeserved criticism.
