Amongst other interesting local reports from last night's Geelong
Field Naturalists' meeting was a record of 2 Crested Pigeons at
Marshall (southern outskirts of Geelong) on 16 October. Local
observers have reported this species approaching Geelong from the
northwest over the last year or so, but this is the first
confirmation of them (as far as I know) on the south side of Geelong.
Report from Ray Beckworth.
The other extraordinary record was from Jeff Horoch of 60 or more Black-faced Cuckoo-Shrikes flying along Bell's Beach (west of Torquay) on 5 October.
