Schodde and Mason (1999)

Schodde and Mason (1999) has been adopted by the Australian Bird and Bat
Banding Scheme as their official list, at least as far as passerines are
concerned. Possibly a little premature as I would be surprised if all the
changes will be agreed to. On the other hand, in my opinion, there was a
problem with the ABBBS numbering system in that some subspecies were
recorded as different numbers and other subspecies were ignored. It becomes
a bit subjective.

Unfortunately, when taxonomy gets down to thumbs and tacks, subjective is
what it seems to become.
